President Trump Is Powering an American Manufacturing Renaissance

American manufacturing is surging under President Donald J. Trump. A new report shows the sector expanding for the tenth consecutive month, with production growing at its fastest pace in nearly five years. Factories are expanding. Jobs are returning. Paychecks are rising faster than inflation. And companies are investing trillions to build their futures in America.

  • Manufacturing jobs are coming back. Manufacturers have added 72,000 jobs this year, reversing the 202,000 manufacturing jobs lost in the final two years of the Biden Administration. Employment in factory construction has climbed by nearly 112,000 since President Trump took office.
  • Paychecks are growing. Manufacturing workers’ weekly earnings are up 5% over the past year — outpacing inflation and boosting purchasing power.
  • Investment is accelerating. Business investment jumped 12.7% in the third quarter of 2026, the fastest growth in 15 years. Private investment in plants and equipment rose 9.4% — more than twice the 2025 rate and triple the pace of Biden’s final year. Capital goods imports hit a record share of total goods imports in September while consumer goods imports fell to a historic low, signaling businesses are equipping American factories, not just importing finished products.
  • Demand for American machinery is strong. U.S. machine tool orders reached their third-highest monthly total on record, up more than 36% from a year earlier.

Companies are matching the momentum with major new commitments. In just the past few weeks:

  • Audi announced a $4 billion factory in Georgia — its first U.S. manufacturing plant — creating 4,500 jobs.
  • Westinghouse Electric announced a $1 billion investment in South Carolina to build a next-generation nuclear fuel factory.
  • U.S. Steel announced a $3 billion investment near Pittsburgh to construct a new hot strip mill and increase annual capacity by roughly 1.3 million tons.
  • Apple announced up to $100 million to strengthen American titanium production.
  • Bombardier announced $270 million in U.S. manufacturing investment, creating thousands of jobs.
  • Carrier announced more than $600 million in an advanced manufacturing facility in Fort Worth.

More jobs. Rising wages. New factories. Record investment. Under President Trump, American manufacturing is being rebuilt — and made great again.
