Russia Claims Seizure of Two Ukrainian Settlements

(MENAFN) Russian forces have captured two strategically located settlements along active front lines following what Moscow described as swift and decisive military operations. The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed Tuesday the seizure of Bobylevka in the Sumy region and Veselyanka in the Zaporizhzhia region.

In a sweeping offensive push, Russian Defense Ministry said its armed forces executed strikes against 142 separate targets across Ukraine. Among those hit were Ukrainian airfields allegedly used to launch long-range strike drones, energy infrastructure, port facilities tied to Ukraine's military-industrial operations, and temporary staging areas housing Ukrainian troops and foreign mercenaries.

Russian air defense units also reported intercepting 12 guided aerial bombs and 136 fixed-wing drones during the same operational period, according to the ministry.
