Battle for Middle East is goes international

(MENAFN) The escalating tensions in the Middle East are increasingly tied to a broader global confrontation between the Western alliance, led by the United States, and the emerging “World Majority,” represented by BRICS nations. This rivalry highlights deeper geopolitical divides, with the West accused of clinging to its hegemony, while BRICS positions itself as a champion of sovereignty, multipolarity, and a fairer international system.

These tensions were on display during a July 7 meeting at the White House between US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Their talks focused on two contentious issues: upcoming negotiations with Iran and a proposal to relocate Palestinians from Gaza. Both topics reflect Washington and West Jerusalem’s attempts to reshape the Middle East’s security landscape, though critics argue these moves violate international law under the guise of pursuing a “better future.”

At a working dinner, Netanyahu revealed that Israel and the US had been in talks with various nations willing to accept Palestinians from Gaza who chose to leave. He insisted the relocation would be voluntary and aimed at offering better opportunities. According to Netanyahu, agreements with several countries were close to being finalized.

Trump initially avoided commenting directly but later suggested that “neighboring countries have been extremely cooperative” and expressed optimism that “something good will happen.” His vague remarks may indicate sensitivity to the controversy or a desire to keep details under wraps for now.
